Meeting Goal
- For the DCTF membership to learn about, discuss, and potentially provide written comments to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) on their revised Risk Assessment Mitigation Program (RAMP) regulations for the commercial Dungeness crab fishery as part of the 45-day public comment period.
Agenda
Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
1. Welcome, introductions, and agenda review.
2. Public comment on non-agenda items.
3. Presentation and discussion on the proposed regulatory changes to RAMP, including, but not limited to, addressing marine life entanglements in the Dungeness crab fishery, how the draft amendments would impact the commercial Dungeness crab fishery, CDFW’s implementation timeline, clarifications, alignment of the draft regulations with Incidental Take Permit needs, etc.
ACTION: Consideration and possible development of recommendations related to management actions that could be responsive to marine life entanglement risk and written comments related to the proposed revisions of the RAMP regulations to be submitted prior to CDFW’s written public comment period deadline of no later than May 21, 2024.

Agenda items and related action items may be taken out of order at the discretion of the DCTF Administrative Team. Every effort will be made to address all items on the agenda. However, the DCTF may postpone certain discussions or actions due to time limitations or the need to revisit topics with their constituents before moving an item forward.
