Press Release

The California Ocean Protection Council, in partnership with the California Ocean Science Trust, released the first-ever comprehensive, science-based assessment of California’s coast and ocean health. The 2026 California Coast and Ocean Report covers 14 key indicators across three themes — People, Wildlife and Habitats, and Stressors — and tells a story of both pressure and progress.
