Join the 30×30 Movement as an Ambassador – Application Deadline Extended to February 1, 2026

Do you want to get more involved with California’s ambitious conservation goals and help protect our state’s coast and ocean? The California Natural Resources Agency is inviting community leaders across the state to join the 30×30 movement and help accelerate the conservation of our lands and coastal waters. As a 30×30 Ambassador, you’ll have the opportunity to amplify OPC’s work to protect our treasured coastal and marine biodiversity, sharing our vision, progress, and opportunities to get involved with diverse audiences across the state.

The goal of 30×30 is to conserve 30% of California’s lands and coastal waters by 2030. From lush kelp forests to rich estuaries, California has already conserved 737,600 acres, or 21.9% of its coastal waters. But protecting unique ecosystems and restoring biodiversity is just one of 30×30’s objectives. With the help of interpreters and partners, California is also expanding access to nature and building resilience to climate change with every acre conserved. This is your opportunity to use your skills to engage with your community and help build momentum in the statewide 30×30 movement!

To become a 30×30 Ambassador, participants must:

  • Attend an all-day in-person training on March 3 in Sacramento
  • Attend a follow-up virtual meeting
  • Provide 30×30 training to staff, volunteers, and fellow colleagues
  • Report back data on program engagement and successes

Apply to be a 30×30 Ambassador by Sunday, February 1, 2026 (deadline extended).

Selected Ambassadors will be notified via email by Friday, February 6, 2026.
