You are invited to a public meeting on October 30 from 1:30pm - 3:30 pm to provide ideas and comments on the draft outline of the Coastal and Ocean Resources Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.
This outline is being prepared by the staff of the Ocean Protection Council, in consultation with a working group that consists of representatives from Stanford University, the University of California system, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, California Coastal Commission, California Coastal Conservancy, San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, and State Lands Commission.
The Resources Agency is currently preparing a statewide climate change adaptation strategy, one portion of which will consist of the Ocean and Coastal Resources sector. The attached document provides an outline for discussion. We would like to solicit your input on innovative ideas, strategies, and concepts that could be included.
Prior to the meeting, please take a look at the public comment form as a guide for how we will be structuring the discussion at the meeting.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, please feel free to fill out this form in writing and email it to Abe Doherty at adoherty@scc.ca.gov by Tuesday, November 4, 2008.
The overall state adaptation strategy for climate change includes the following sectors:
--Biodiversity and Habitat
--Infrastructure
--Oceans and Coastal Resources
--Public Health
--Water
--Working Landscapes (forestry and agriculture)
