Agenda
Goal of the Executive Committee (EC) Conference Call: To provide updates on topics directly impacting the Dungeness crab fishery and identify priority topics for consideration by the full Dungeness Crab Task Force (DCTF) membership in 2026.
1. Welcome, introductions, and agenda overview.
2. Public comment on non-agenda items.
3. Updates on the Dungeness crab fishery, including, but not limited to, DCTF elections, the Risk Assessment Mitigation Program (RAMP), marine life entanglements, and other topics related to the California Dungeness crab fishery.
4. Discuss and consider priority topics identified during the May 2026 EC meeting, including, but not limited to:
a. Presentation and discussion on the Tri-State Crab Quality testing program including but not limited to an overview of relevant Fish and Game code sections, current protocols and procedures, lessons learned from past seasons, and a discussion of needs for updates to the program.
b. Options to modify the regulations or fleetwide practices associated with the 64-hour commercial presoak period so gear is pulled at a time of day that promotes safe fishing practices
5. Discuss the DCTF elections, structure, charge, and procedures as outlined by the California Fish and Game code and charter. Explore challenges, opportunities, and potential needs for amendments.
6. Confirm priority topics for future EC discussions and the fall 2026 DCTF meeting.
7. Adjourn
Agenda items and related action items may be taken out of order at the discretion of the DCTF Administrative Team (Admin Team).
Public Participation and Comment: All members of the public, including non-EC DCTF members, will be automatically placed on mute upon entering the call. Phone lines will be opened during public comment periods. When the Admin Team opens the call to public comment, you may press *6 to unmute yourself if you wish to provide comments.
